PAHO asks countries to reinforce contact tracing and data systems as the region starts to reopen
"Primary health care should be at the center of the response: identifying cases, acting to contain transmission and providing timely care in the community,” the Director of the Pan American Health Organization, Dr. Carissa F. Etienne said. “Local health authorities have a central role to play in generating and analyzing data to adjust public health measures to the reality in each area”.

National Regulatory Authorities participate in the discussion on COVID-19 vaccines: the WHO solidarity trial and the WHO Emergency Use Listing Procedure
PAHO held the XI Regulatory Meeting with the National Regulatory Authorities in the Americas, which took place on 6 August 2020. In this session, representatives from the World Health Organization presented the SOLIDARITY clinical trial protocol and the WHO Emergency Use Listing (EUL) process for COVID-19 vaccines.
