Beyond Flexner: Social Mission of Medical Education Conference

A major conference entitled: "Beyond Flexner: Social Mission of Medical Education," was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, May 15-17, 2012.  Sponsored by The WK Kellogg Foundation, The George Kaiser Family Foundation, The George Washington University, The University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine and the University of Tulsa, the conference included presentations and discussions on issues related to the social mission of medical education, the ethical dimensions of leadership in medicine, and how and why to move beyond Flexner, the report that impacted medical education after its publication over 100 years ago.
