Working to strengthen Peru's VCPH Node
Between 6 and 10 June, was performed a visit to Peru, where various activities were developed to analyze the current situation and development prospects of the Node of Virtual Campus of Public Health (VCPH) Peru.
As part of the V Andean Development of Human Resources for Health, Dr. Joseph B. Jardines, General Coordinator of the CVSP, gave a presentation on the Virtual Campus of Public Health.
We analyzed the current situation Node VCPH Peru with Dr. Victor Cuba, Dean of the School of Public Health, Cayetano Heredia University and Coordinator of Node CVSP Peru, scheduling the relaunch of the node for the next three months.
Also conducted exchanges with managers and technical staff of various institutions: the College of Nurses of Peru, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Peru Medical College, the National Institute of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad San Martín de Porres and the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Nacional de San Marcos; exchanges focused on the development of these institutions in e-learning and the opportunity to become members of the national node of the Campus in Peru. About 10 institutions will be incorporated into the Node VCPH Peru and the incorporation of these new institutions will be supported by this node and the School of Public Health, Cayetano Heredia with the training of technical personnel who will be responsible for each institution so that they can make their contributions Educational Resources Peru's national repository network REA / OER.
The National Institute of Health, the Ministry of Health and the Medical College undertook to coordinate the decentralization of regional courses FESP, Health Workers and Training of Tutors for contextualize nationally through Node VCPH Peru.
The possibility that the course of Integrated Management of Childhood Emergencies (IMCE) can have online support from the VCPH, was evaluated by Dr. Miguel Davila, national consultant for PAHO in Peru. This course is now available on DVD.
As part of capacity building of technical equipment of the participating institutions, will take place during this year's workshops on the Moodle platform with a view to presenting the best works to II Moodle Health Congress to be held in Havana in 2011.
