| The Virtual Campus for Public Health (VCPH) of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) surpassed 3 million users from more than 225 countries and territories around the world.
"In just over 20 years, the Virtual Campus has grown exponentially and has established itself as an educational community of reference, key to expanding knowledge and strengthening the capacities of health workers and students,” said James Fitzgerald, director of PAHO's Department of Health Systems and Services.

PAHO presents key recommendations to increase equitable access to health at G20 event in Brazil |

At a G20 event on the health workforce, PAHO and WHO presented recommendations to ensure greater equity in the distribution of health professionals. “The availability of services has already been affected as a result of the active recruitment of skilled nursing professionals outside the country of origin,” said PAHO's Director of Health Systems and Services, James Fitzgerald.“The Virtual Campus has been strengthening public health capacities for more than 20 years. Today, more than 3.2 million health professionals participate in the Campus,” said Fitzgerald. This initiative is also one of the strategies to boost digital health in the Americas.

| The development of virtual educational proposals in health institutions requires trained teaching teams with the capacity to analyze the environment and the challenges of the transformation of the world of work in health and education.
As part of the commitments of the Virtual Campus for Public Health (VCPH) to strengthen the teaching capacities in health institutions in the Region of the Americas, this Special Program of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has collaborated with academic institutions in the design of a course focused on "Leadership for Educational Management in Health Organizations".

First International Meeting of Scientific Communication, Health and Social Impact: the Virtual Campus highlights the importance of virtual education for public health |

PAHO supported the organization of the First International Meeting on Scientific Communication, Health and Social Impact, held from April 8 to 12 at the Faculty of Sciences of Information from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), in Spain. Scholars and researchers from Africa, Latin America and Europe participated actively during the event.The event commenced with a round table discussion titled "Health communication in virtual education environments", that included among its speakers Gabriel Listovsky, Chief of the Virtual Campus Special Program. He highlighted that all the educational resources available on the platform are open and interoperable and that, although it is not a university or academy, the VCPH works efficiently with various institutions in the region of the Americas.

| Virtual Respiratory Protection program for Healthcare Workers |
Healthcare workers are constantly exposed to various occupational respiratory hazards that may have lasting effects even after exposure ceases. This, may derive in work-related diseases which can lead to a lifetime of lung problems if not properly prevented and, ultimately, treated. The use of masks and respirators reduces the spread of the infection and though their use is recommended and, sometimes, mandatory, it should be accompanied by a training program to decrease the risk of infection.
The aim is to provide health teams with tools and information that will help them avoid respiratory hazards and risks.

| Nursing Leadership: Strengthening Management of Nursing Practice in the Caribbean |
Aimed at nursing professionals who want to improve their leadership skills and those who are currently practicing in the nursing field as clinicians/managers, teachers, researchers or administrators. It is open and self-learning. Specific objectives include identifying nursing knowledge from the natural and behavioral sciences, the arts, humanities, and nursing science as a basis for culturally competent nursing practice.
Analyze concepts of organizational theory, systems leadership, staff development, and quality improvement through the use of evidence-based research for clinical decision making, etc.
