II Workshop "Towards a new conceptual model building for International Health"
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) will conduct the second workshop "Towards a new conceptual model building international Health". This workshop will be held in Lima, Peru from 28 to 30 October 2009.
The workshop's main objective is to contribute to building the conceptual model of international health with greater explanatory power of the growing complexity of health-disease processes at a time of transformation of regional geopolitics and in a context of globalization that affects all countries, and explore the establishment of an academic network of international health / global health in the region.
The meeting will bring together over 30 professionals from 11 countries of the region: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, USA, Mexico, Peru and Spain.
The specific objectives of the meeting are:
a) Exchange on existing offerings or development of training in international health / global health in selected institutions in the region.
b) Desirable to explore the relationships between LIHP and academic groups for teaching and research in international health / global health.
c) Enriching the conceptual model of international health, using as input the current model of LIHP.
d) Discuss the relevance of establishing an academic network of international health / global health in the region.
