First International Congress on Education Online and Free Culture "MoodleMoot / MoodleHealth 09"

During the days 13, 14 and August 15 this year, was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the First International Congress on Education Online and Free Culture "MoodleMoot / Moodle Health 09".

Sponsored by Flacso Argentina (Virtual Flacso) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the event took place at the headquarters of FLACSO Argentina, with the presence of institutions involved in using the Moodle platform for teaching.

The exhibitions were organized by subject areas, are enabled for this purpose a panel of Health, a panel of education and a third panel for topics related to Government.

Both the opening and closing statements were made by the creator of the Moodle platform: Martin Dougiamas, who explained the entire process from the emergence of platform, the path that he and his team through the different versions and finally made the presentation what is Moodle 2.0 and all new utilities and applications that will built.

The event was also attended by the Rector of the University of Computer Science of Cuba (UCI) Melchor Gil, who made his presentation on the work done by the University and the achievements made by them in the creation of modules for Moodle and the wide use of make this tool for the institution.

This event was attended by exhibitors and participants from countries like Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, the team of the Virtual Campus of Public Health (VCPH) and representatives from PAHO Whashington.
