Started the 2nd version of the Diploma in Health and Local Development
With an enrollment of 82 students, began on May 16, the second version of the Diploma in Health and Local Development. This course aims, to strengthen the link between health and local development to improve health situation and quality of life of citizens through the development of competence to act on inequality, reducing exclusion and achieve full access to the right to health.
This diploma is intended for: local government actors, institutional, academic, community and social organizations that promote local development and involved with specific health practices in response to three specific sections:
- Responsible of the PAHO iniciative: Faces, Voices and Places
- Professionals of the municipalities where the initiative is implemented
- Community members who are distinguished for his leadership in local development.
This year the Diploma participants are health professionals from 20 countries in the region: Argentina, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico and Uruguay.
This virtual course will be developed over six months with a load time of 250 hours and will be awarded a certificate stating the training in Health and Local Development, signed by the Pan American Health Organization.
